Sony Computer Entertainment and Supermassive Games have released the latest trailers this week for the survival horror video game Until Dawn. You can check out both videos in the player below.
The new videos emphasize the choices and alternate pathways players can take in the game. One of the key features of the game is that players will at different points be able to play as each of the eight characters who have been trapped together on a remote mountain retreat. Each decision could mean the difference between life and death.
Obviously, the game has taken a cinematic style for its gameplay, reminiscent of classic horror cinema and integrated that style into the gameplay. The first video is actually interactive and demonstrates in live-action the type of choices players can make throughout the game. You will have a limited amount of time to make a decision, not unlike characters making split second and possibly unintelligent routes in horror films. In short, the responsibility of the protagonist is completely put in hands of the player, whether the characters get away or are killed by the psychotic assailant in brutal fashion.
Until Dawn hits the shelves next week. The game will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
