I can’t speak for everyone, but I personally thought Season 1 of The Mandalorian was great. It’s the best thing that’s been done with the Star Wars universe in quite a while, and much better than any big-screen effort that’s come out recently. Now that the eight episodes of Season 1 have been released, the only question on everyone’s mind (besides that stick The Moff was holding) is….will we get more, and when?
The good news is that work began on Season 2 of The Mandalorian months before the release of Season 1. The better news is that, thanks to this fact, we should be getting it in less time than a year. Series co-creator Jon Favreau tweeted the announcement upon the release of Season 1’s final episode:

Details on this second season are light….all we really know is what we gathered from the ending of Season 1 (so there are spoilers in this next sentence). Mando, whose real name was revealed as Din Djarin, has been appointed official guardian of The Child, aka “Baby Yoda.” His new mission is to search the galaxy to find where the species is located, and possibly return the child to his parents…barring that, he’ll be stuck with it, but no one watching would mind.
As for Moff’s weird stick, it’s called the Darksaber, there’s only one of them, and it’s made appearances on both The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Both these shows are conveniently available on the same streaming service The Mandalorian is, so you can get caught up before Season 2.
And you have plenty of time. The Mandalorian Season 2 premieres in the fall of 2020 on Disney+.
