Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid has finally released the beast that has been polarizing the internet for months. As the trailer went viral right away with its 2.2 million views, the division among fans still exists, with the video receiving 62 thousand likes and 176 thousand dislikes. Love her or hate her, Halle Bailey is here to stay, as she captures the essence of Ariel with her pristine innocent presence. Furthermore, the movie will be based on the 1989 animated adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale.

The filmmakers decided not to adhere to the original fairytale in this live action film. You know because the creators thought it would be too traumatizing for children.

The Original 1989 film made $211.3 million in the box office so there are will be a lot pressure for Disney to equal that success. The casting of Halle Bailey might be controversial to some but it could be a calculated risk that might be worth taking. Halle Bailey had an amazing singing voice and acting talent shows  promise.  She started as a part of the singing duo, Chloe X Halle with her Sister Chloe Bailey. Both sisters dabble into acting with the sitcom Grown’ish where they are support characters. I can see these sisters  becoming big stars in the future.

A talented ensemble of actors will join Halle Bailey in the upcoming movie adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The cast includes Javier Bardem, Melissa McCarthy, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Daveed Diggs, and Jonah Hauer-King who will play the role of Prince Eric. With such a stellar lineup of actors, this movie is sure to be a hit among the casual audiences.
