Terraria coming to PSN & XBLA

Terraria’s free updates stopped a while ago when developer Re-Logic moved onto development of new game, Starbound. However, it’s not the end for Terraria since the 2011 game will now see a port to consoles.

Terraria is a 2D adventure game with elements of both RPG’s and construction elements. The port will be coming to PSN and XBLA early next year, published by 505 Games, with porting duties handled by Engine Software instead of original developer, Re-Logic.

Although Re-Logic isn’t involved in the port, Terraria creator Andrew Spinks has the following to say:
”I can’t say how excited I am to finally have Terraria come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3!

To see it come so far is a complete shock, especially after such humble beginnings. It’s always been my dream to have as many people as possible know and enjoy Terraria as much as I have, and this is another big step in that direction!

“It’s been awesome working with 505 Games, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the additional features that they’ve been able to bring to this new edition of the game.”
No word has been giving on what extra features will be coming to consoles, or whether these features will also come to the PC version of Terraria. It will be interesting to see how – and if – the game works without a mouse and keyboard.

 1. I have a buddy who has a more-than-mild obsession with this game, but I rarely PC game. Imma definitely have to spend some Microsoft points on it now.
