If you’re a fan of creature collector games, have a lot to look forward to with this upcoming double feature! Introducing both the city building Tamer Town, and the Roguelite prequel Path to Tamer Town coming soon!
Crazy Goat Games just recently announced not one, but two different games to be released. However, they’re not just related in regards to their developer, as these two games take place in the same universe. These two games are part of the greater Tamer Town world, each having their own approach to exploring the setting.
Despite the differences they may have in their gameplay, both hold the same core of creature collecting. From fluffy little critters, to towering rock beasts, there is a wide variety of creatures to choose from. Whether it’s using them to battle, or to build up the best town possible, you gat to gather your own team of creatures to assist you in any way you need!
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM BOTH TAMER TOWN AND PATH TO TAMER TOWN
Despite these two games being in the same world, both approach it in very different ways. Both have creature collection, and heavily features towns and battling, but how these aspects are framed in separate ways. Tamer Town focuses primarily on city building, while Path to Tamer Town is instead a roguelite game.
Tamer Town is mostly about the creation of your own personal town, complete with its own community of people and creatures. Exploration is an important aspect of the game, as that is how you expand your set of creatures, and acquire important resources. Battling is an aspect to the game, but it’s not the main focus of the game.
This is where Path to Tame Town comes into play. You travel along procedurally generated routes and cities, collecting and fighting as you move from place to place. You don’t lead a city, and are instead on a journey to fight and train for the ultimate challenge.
