Super Smash Bros: Bayonetta and Corrin Hit This Week
Nintendo has officially announced via the official Twitter account for Nintendo America that the new DLC fighters for the Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS rosters will be hitting later this week. Starting in the afternoon of February 3, Nintendo will release Bayonetta of the Bayonetta franchise and Corrin from Fire Emblem Fate as DLC characters for the game.
Besides the two new characters, the new update will also feature a new wave of Mii Fighter costumes. Here’s the full breakdown of new costumes (via Gamespot):
- Geno (Super Mario RPG)
- Chocobo Hat (Final Fantasy)
- Bionic Armor
- Takamaru (game unreleased in US)
- Ashley (Wario Ware)
- Gil (Tower of Druaga)
- Tails and Knuckles (Sonic)
Bayonetta appears in the game after winning the most votes for a worldwide character poll for the game (that Nintendo has the rights to use). The next DLC fighter to join the roster will be Cloud Strife of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII. Amiibo for Bayonetta, Corrin and Cloud are also all in the works. The long-awaited Amiibo for Roy of the Fire Emblem series and Ryu of the Street Fighter franchise are supposed to ship later this spring on March 18. Super Smash Bros is currently available for Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS.
