Street Fighter VI might be a reboot

Street Fighter VI might be a Reboot because of something revealed on Rose’s story mode! The final batch of DLC characters in Street Fighter V is Dan Hibiki, Rose, Oro, Akira Kazama. A mysterious character yet to be revealed will also join them. At this moment, only Dan and Rose are available.

The lore of Street Fighter can be convoluted at times. The Chronological order of sequels is different from the canon storyline order. This is a canon order of the whole Street fighter series.

Capcom might be running out of ideas on how to follow Street Fighter III which is the last chapter in the lore. Street Fighter V is a midquel.  Rose’s story mode in Street fighter V is set after the defeat of M.Bison.  Her story mode revealed a shocking revelation that fans are not expecting. They are pulling a Mortal Kombat 9 because a reboot is imminent.  Rose thought the world is saved after the defeat of M.Bison and Necalli. Rose is a Psychic fortune teller so she can get premonitions of the future.

A video can explain words better so here is Rose’s story mode that sounds like a setting to Street Fighter VI:

After she defeated G in a battle, she have visions of an unstoppable evil. I thought it is a set up to Street Fighter III where the final boss and antagonist is Gill.Rose’s vision though is something after that. There is an upcoming evil that not even her can stop and the only way to save the world is a reset to zero. Yes Street Fighter might undergo a total reboot. If they will continue the plot after Street fighter III, the characters will age. Aging characters in real time works for Resident evil but not in Street fighter that is set entirely in a retro futuristic depiction of the 90s.
