Something Weird Is Going On At Granny’s House
Sometimes we get descriptions of upcoming horror movies that sound obvious: a young couple moves into a haunted house, or a group of teens decides to do naughty things in an abandoned campground. But then there’s the description for the new indie film At Granny’s House, which arrives on VOD platforms today.
A Hitchcockian thriller with twists and turns, made for the YouTube generation with it’s depictions of the ubiquity and downside of cellphone usage and connectivity thru social media, At Granny’s House is the story of a young caregiver with a dark agenda who moves into an elderly woman’s house. Soon, Granny’s house becomes a macabre place of death – and love.
So there’s some deranged dude moving into an old lady’s house….somehow social media is heavily connected to the plot…and it’s “Hitchcockian.” We’re stumped. And just when we thought we finally solved the puzzle, we were stymied by two final words: “and love.” What’s love got to do with it?
At Granny’s House stars Glenda Morgan Brown (Angel’s mother) as the titular Granny, Bill Oberst Jr (“Criminal Minds”, Death House), Rachel Alig (Bikini Spring Break, 12/12/12), Les Mahoney (Mike Case in : The Big Kiss Off) and Laura Lee (Casting JonBenet). Whatever this movie is about, you can find out today on Amazon Prime, iTunes, and Vimeo.
