The Legendary SNK is making a 40th Anniversary

Collection Coming to the Switch

 

With SNK celebrating its 40th year, it’s right to do something big for such an achievement. That something is the announcement of the 40th anniversary collection at Pax East 2018 on Friday.

The Collection will have a limited edition that includes the game, an art book, and a soundtrack. The games will also have updated graphics to 1080p quality. There is no release date, though fall 2018 is when to expect it. The collection so far includes titles such as Alpha Mission, Athena, Psycho Solider, Crystal, and more with more games to be announced in the coming months. There will also be arcade versions of certain games such as P.O.W, TNK 3, Victory Road, and more.

SNK is known for the King of Fighters Franchise and the Metal Slug series. The company’s first game was Ozma War in 1979, but their stride with Metal Slug, Fatal Fury, and King of Fighters in the nineties.

Currently SNK has King of Fighters XIV and SNK Heroines out for the Playstation 4. which also got announcements of Blue Mary coming to King of Fighters coming out April 12th alongside Oswald, Heidern, and Najd. While Shermie coming to SNK Heroines on September 8th 2018. Along side this Metal Slug XX is getting a remaster for the PS4 this summer.

Expect this collection to be massive, so far the Switch is the only console to be getting this. But expect it to be announced for Playstation before release or shortly after release.
