Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins trailer starring Henry Goulding
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins just release it’s first teaser trailer. It teases a lot of exciting appearances of G.I Joe characters for less than a minute. I can see a lot of potential with this movie.
Malaysian British Actor Henry Golding got another Hollywood Break with Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. Golding is known for movies like Crazy Rich Asians, Last Christmas, A Simple Favor, and The Gentlemen.
He will be playing one of the most popular characters of the G.I Joe Franchise. He will be playing Snake-eyes. This film will be a prequel to the movies. This is before he became into a masked Ninja who doesn’t speak. In the past G.I Joe films, Snake Eyes got played by Ray Park Now that he will be a speaking character in this prequel, Henry Goulding got the role. The movie industry is recovering from the Pandemic because this film will be released in Theaters this July 22. Eventually, it could be available for the streaming service Paramount+.
It is directed by Robert Schwentke, who made The Divergent Series movies. The film also stars Andrew Koji, Úrsula Corberó, Samara Weaving, Haruka Abe Takehiro Hira, and Iko Uwais.
There are some fan complaints because this film will deviate from the comics and 80s cartoons. Snake-Eyes is a Blonde-haired white guy from the source material but a Caucasian Ninja will sound culturally appropriation this era. Also, his domain as a hero is South-East Asia so that would have been another white savior narrative. It is one of the Racebending situations that are more appropriate. So that is pretty much the reason why Ray Park didn’t reprise his role. Most fans are still positive about this film and embrace the changes. It could have been worst. Imagine if this franchise fell in the Hands of Paul Anderson and Milla Jovovich.
