#Deletedspotify Singers are removing their Songs on Spotify
Spotify had been a way for singers to earn money from their discography. Fans don’t need to spend money but the singers and bands make money. They don’t because Artists can make a dollar for every 250 streams. Recently the number of streams a singer needs to make to make a dollar for other platforms was also revealed.
So why are musical artist removing their songs to a platform that makes them money and helps them reach the charts?

Aside from Music, You can also stream podcasts on Spotify. UFC commentator Joe Rogan. had made a living out of podcasting. He usually commentates about combat sports,political commentaries and also take on conspiracy theories.
His latest podcast spreads misinformation about Covid 19 Vaccines. This triggered the online movement, #Deletedspotify. Rock Legend Neil Young gave Spotify to remove his songs from their playlist if Joe Rogan’s spotify will stay in the Platform.has been spreading conspiracies and misinformation on his podcast. Spotify decided to keep Joe Rogan instead. Joe Rogan seemed not affected as He even have an upcoming deal with Netflix.
People online also followed the movement by uninstalling the app and streaming service. This is their protest for keeping Rogan who is spreading misinformation about the Pandemic. There is no a division between the anti-vaxx people and the ones who want the Pandemic to end. Online misinformation has been a problem for platforms like Facebook and Youtube. One country is about to elect a dictator again thanks to fake news and propaganda online. Platforms not removing misinformation had been a problem worldwide.
Folk Legend Joni Mitchell also joined #Deletedspotify movement as all of her library is now gone from the platform.
If more recent artist will follow the movement, It will be a bigger blow for the platform.

In a span of few days, Spotify lost 25% of their subscription.
