Second Expansion Announced For The One Ring RPG
Free League’s The One Ring, the tabletop RPG based on the writings of Tolkien, contains a vast world — but it’s about to get vaster, as the company introduces the second expansion to the game: Tales From The Lone-Lands.
Now they had gone on far into the Lone-lands, where there were no people left, no inns, and the roads grew steadily worse. Not far ahead were dreary hills, rising higher and higher, dark with trees. On some of them were old castles with an evil look, as if they had been built by wicked people.
Everything you need will be contained in an illustrated hardback with the material for six new adventures. They’re malleable enough to be played individually, or as chapters of a larger story. Here are some of the voyages possible:
- A Troll-Hole, If Ever There Was One and Kings of Little Kingdoms are relatively self-contained adventures, but still hint at a growing danger.
- Messing About In Boats involves directly one member of the Company, in an unexpected way!
- Not To Strike Without Need and Wonder of the Northern World follow the slow infiltration of spies of the Enemy.
- The Quest of Amon Guruthos challenges the heroes to battle an ancient evil.
Free League’s current version of The One Ring is a revised edition based on the 2011 original. This edition was itnroduced early last year with updated and streamlined rules based on player feedback. The core game is available now everywhere; Free League has not announced a release date for Tales From The Lone-Lands.
