Second Cowboy Bebop Trailer Shows Off Alien Visuals
They could have just released one trailer for Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop and it would have been enough. The “Lost Session” trailer released last week was sheer perfection; one of the best trailers we’ve ever seen. It sold itself based on that one, but in the event you can’t be satisfied unless you see actual clips from the show, here’s Trailer #2, released right after the first, composed entirely of scenes from the first season.
John Cho is playing Spike, the messy-haired protagonist. Mustafa Shakir has been cast as Jet Black, the bionic-armed, usually angry ship captain. Daniella Pineda is playing Faye, the aloof vixen out of time who is constantly getting into trouble of her own making. This time we get glimpses of other characters like Pierrot LeFou, Spike’s ex Julia, and his arch-enemy Vicious. The only person we don’t get to see is….you guessed it. I’m really tired of mentioning this show’s lack of Ed, but they just won’t show her to us, nor explain where she is…what else can I do?
One thing often cited about the Cowboy Bebop anime is its incredible soundtrack, and in this case, Netflix knows not to mess with perfection…they re-hired the original music composer, Yoko Kanno, to make the tunes for this one as well. The first season of Cowboy Bebop, which will be ten episodes long, premieres on Netflix November 19.
