SDCC 2017: Wonder Woman Sequel Confirmed!
You’d think that the single most praised and beloved film in the DCEU would get a sequel announced pretty darn quick. From the outset of its release, Wonder Woman charmed and dazzled both fans and critics alike, and proved in many ways how a woman-led superhero film could not only thrive, but dominate. Ever since, rumors of a sequel had begun, but it wasn’t until San Diego Comic Con today that it was confirmed.
At the Warner Bros. panel, a sizzle reel was shown, and in it was many names of future films in the DCEU, and one of them was Wonder Woman 2. It’s been confirmed that Patty Jenkins will be back, though apparently a contract has not been signed to make this happen. And Geoff Johns has confirmed that work on the script has already begun.
The biggest question for the sequel is when it will take place. Some are wondering if it’ll be another flashback story like the original was. Or, will it take place in the modern world after the events of Justice League. No word as to that at present.
