SDCC 2017: Affleck Denies Leaving Batman Role!
Yesterday, a storm of rumors swept through the internet that stated that Ben Affleck was going to be “gracefully” transitioned out of the role of Batman. He would be in the first Matt Reeves film, which is now officially confirmed as “The Batman”, but outside of that, he would be removed.
Well, someone clearly didn’t ask Ben Affleck about that. Because at the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic Con, he said this:
“Let me be very clear, I am the luckiest guy in the world, Batman is the coolest fucking part in any universe.”
He went on to note how happy he is to work with Matt Reeves, who just got done with the Planet of the Apes trilogy:
“With Matt Reeves doing it, I would be an ape, never mind Batman,” he told the audience, “I’m really blown away and excited. It’s a great time in the DC Universe.”
Now, some would say that he could be pandering to WB in order to not cause another storm on the internet. But I have a feeling he’s being sincere. Either way, all eyes are on WB and Matt Reeves to make an amazing Batman solo film.

I think Ben Affleck would make a great Batman. I do think that it's amazing at how fast gossip spreads thru media. This is an interesting article.

Ok so what's the true story here? Is he in or out? Sometimes celebrities deliberately release news like this to generate publicity around an upcoming movie.

Ben Affleck is a great actor and Batman is a great franchise. The combination would certainly be a blockbuster movie. And of course who wouldn't know Matthew Reeves, he's so popular and has directed and produced lots of great movies including the Planet of the Apes trilogy. I don't see any reason for Ben Affleck leaving the Batman role. Let's just hope it's just a rumor.
