SDCC 2017: Why Spider-Man Will Lead Phase 4
Most of the Marvel universe is excited for what’s coming in Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, and then the start of the two-part Infinity War. But then after that, the first film in the MCU to be released will be the next Spider-Man film. Homecoming did very well at the box office, and people love Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and can’t wait to see him come back.
However, some are wondering why Spider-Man will be leading the next phase of Marvel films at the universe changing Infinity War sequel. At SDCC, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige talked to IGN and noted that after all of that? It’s time to get back to basics:
“After this 22 movie saga after untitled Avengers in May ’19, it does seem like you want to get back to ground level, reassess, and who better to do that with than Peter Parker,” explained Feige of his reasoning.
No word as of yet as to what will be the focus of Spider-Man Homecoming 2 (for lack of a better name), however, it has been detailed that a never before used villain will be the focus.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is a great film. It's lighter-toned, and Tom Holland did a good job portraying the web slinger. I am excited to see other Marvel films, and I am looking forward of how the films features other Marvel superheroes. We have seen Tony Stark in some Marvel films like "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "The Incredible Hulk". Thor appeared on "Doctor Strange", and I wonder if Doc will appear in other Marvel films. The films are really connected. By the way, I am quite confused about Spidey leading phase 4 as well. But let's see how these will fare. I am just excited to see them.
