DC Comics has not been afraid to push boldly into new directions for their classic characters and franchises. Batman got a prequel series called Gotham, which has pushed very far from the lore at times. And now, we’re going to get a prequel story for Superman via Krypton, which will tell of how the house of El came to be so respected, after being so hated for so long.
At San Diego Comic Con, a new teaser trailer for the show debuted, and with it came a new release date, 2018. The show was previously believed to be coming in 2017, but it seems that’s no longer the case anymore.
This will be the first DC Comics show to go on Syfy. There was a rumor of a Booster Gold series for a long time, but that never came to fruition.
