SDCC 2017: Captain Marvel To Be Set In 90’s, Will Fight Skrulls
At the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic Con, a lot of art and details was shared about the highly anticipated Captain Marvel film that’s set to arrive in 2019. But the details that were shared weren’t what many expected.
First off, the time period of this film is set in the 90’s. Which (depending on what year exactly) would make it 10+ years before Tony Stark became Iron Man. This is something that no doubt will be a talking point as we eek towards the film.
What’s more, the classic Marvel race known as the Skrulls are going to be the villains of the film. And early concept art show they are indeed like their comic counterparts.
Nick Fury was also confirmed for the film, but will feature him with two eyes for the first time. Nothing else was shown, but this does cast questions about what will happen with the character, and her potential part in Infinity War, if any at all.
