Maybe with the addition of multiplayer to Mass Effect 3 this was inevitable.
Rumor has it that EA is adding a few different multiplayer modes to Dragon Age including PVE and some sort of PVP. Whether this is via DLC for the existing Dragon Age 2 or a feature added to Dragon Age 3 is yet to be revealed. Details are sparse but do mention fighting in some sort of arena with dragons while being able to take the form of a dragon yourself.
