Rock Band VR Launching In March
While PC players were left without the prospect of getting their hands on Rock Band 4 following an unsuccessful crowdfunding campaign by Harmonix, those with VR hardware will be able to rock out with plastic instruments in the very near future. Rock Band VR is a title developed by the studio that is set to launch on March 23 for Oculus Rift. Players will need to have the Oculus Touch motion controller as well as a Rock Band 4 console guitar to play the game, though.
While Rock Band VR will come with a classic mode similar to the game modes in Rock Band 4 and other titles, it will also contain a brand new performance mode. This has been specifically created for the VR experience and is not as rigid in its gameplay as other modes. The full statement from Harmonix about Performance mode says:
“In this mode, players experiment with different chords, notes and strum speeds to develop their signature sound and make each performance their own. It’s a completely new kind of music gameplay, it’s perfectly suited to VR, and it’s unlike anything else Harmonix has ever created.
“While the gameplay may have changed, scoring and leaderboards remain as central to the Rock Band experience as ever. Players will need to develop a mastery of Rock Band VR’s new gameplay mechanics if they want to claim a top spot. Chaining together chords and notes into musical phrases and combos will earn players points, while timely deployment of overdrive and signature rock moves, like head banging in time to the music, will trigger multipliers to boost scores even further, earning more stars. It’s a deep, complex system that rewards both technical proficiency and creativity.”

That's pretty cool. I had guitar hero along with the drums a few years ago but I gave it away due to some events. I have missed it. I looked online and the VR seems a little expensive. The oculus rift is cheaper but I guess the VR is better. I am interested in this but the price kind of hurts.
