“Reunited Worlds” (aka “Into the World Again”) is a 2017 Korean drama, 40 episodes, categorized as Fantasy or Supernatural, Science Fiction (Sci-Fi), Romance, Crime, and Mystery. It is streaming on KOCOWA+, The Roku Channel, and Netflix.
- Memorable Quote: “You’re not a murderer. … I know you didn’t kill Yang Gyeong-Cheol. Come back alive and tell everyone, you’re not a murderer.”
SUMMARY: A high school student was struck by a car and died. He was on his way to the police to get help for a student who had been injured. Both he and the student died that night. It was also his birthday. Years later, he returned to his hometown, still wearing his school uniform with his name tag, and he was still 19 years old. His siblings and friends had all grown up. But reuniting with them as a teenager while they had aged wasn’t the shock. The shock was finding out he had been accused of murder. He needed to find the real killer.
♦He Died at Age 19 and Returned at Age 19
In “Reunited Worlds”, it was the birthday of Sung Hae-Sung. His family, along with his first love, were planning a surprise birthday party. That night he found Yang Gyeong-Cheol, an art student, badly injured in the high school art room. When he left to go get help for him, the student was alive. He was on his bike, pedaling furiously to get to either the police or a hospital when he was struck by a car. He would have celebrated his 19th birthday, had he lived.
They say dead men tell no tales. It’s easy to pin a murder on a dead man. Both Sung Hae-Sung and the injured student, Yang Gyeong-Cheol, died that night. Sung Hae-Sung was falsely accused of murdering the student, and for twelve (12) years everybody accepted the results of the police investigation. Although some never believed the police report.
The Siblings Were Too Young to Know If They Should Believe the Police
Sung Hae-Sung’s siblings were very young when he died. Too young to know if they should believe the police. They grew up “marked” as brothers and sister of a murderer. People were very cruel to them. One brother became a gangster because nobody wanted to hire him for honest work. The other brother became a doctor but told everyone he was an only child and had no siblings. The sister was mistreated and taken advantage of by her employer.
The Close Friends Never Believed the Police Report
Sung Hae-Sung’s close friends never believed he was a murderer. Especially not his first love, Jung Jung-Won. But how could they prove the truth? Jung Jung-Won, now 31, has spent years grappling with guilt and grief over Sung Hae-Sung’s death. She wished that Sung Hae-Sung could come back alive somehow and prove he wasn’t a murderer. Of course, that would take a miracle.
A Miracle Happened.
Who would have believed a miracle would happen?
Sung Hae-Sung, died at the age of 19 and mysteriously returns twelve years after his death. He is still 19 years old and completely unchanged. He is even still wearing his high school uniform with his name tag. But the people he loved – his siblings and close friends – have grown up and continued their lives without him.
Returning to the world again is clearly a shocking miracle. But the real shock for Sung Hae-Sung was learning that he had been falsely accused of murder. One of his close friends, Shin Ho-Bang, is now a police officer and offers to re-investigate the case. As he reconnects with his first love, close friends, and his fractured family, he is determined to find out the truth. Who killed Yang Gyeong-Cheol?

Reunited Worlds” has been on my watch list for quite some time. While waiting for 2026 K-dramas to be released, I finally decided to start streaming the series. I couldn’t believe this gem had been sitting right in front of me all this time.
What a unique storyline! There are lots of K-dramas that address reincarnation and living several lives. You usually don’t remember your past life unless something “triggers” it. But can you imagine coming back into the world and finding out you had been falsely accused of murder?? On the plus side, one of his high school friends grew up and became a police officer. At least his friend could start digging into the investigation again, even though the crime had happened 12 years ago. The scriptwriters deserve high marks.
