Apparently on the same night that Gotham Knights makes its “sure to be a hit” debut, Superman And Lois will return for its (final?) new season. It makes sense to pair them together, synergy-wise, but we hope Gotham Knights doesn’t get the 8PM slot.
The CW‘s official description says: “Season 3 opens weeks after Superman’s blowout defeat of Ally Allston. Clark and Lois are now working at the Smallville Gazette together and enjoying small town life. But the Kents’ romantic bliss only shines a light on how isolating ‘the secret’ can be, as Chrissy struggles to balance a new love interest and her friendship with Lois. However, Lois’ own work-life balance is put to the test when an undercover assignment reveals a deadly foe that promises to change the Kent family forever. Superman would move heaven and earth for his family, but with a villain this merciless, even that might not be enough.”
It goes on to describe Jon and Jordan’s current relationship woes, but no one cares about that. But the most shocking twist of all is implied by the below trailer: is Lois pregnant? And if so, will she even have time to pop out a baby before The CW implodes?
Oh yeah, and if one of Clark and Lois’s kids looks a bit different, there’s a reason: Jordan Elsass left the series and has been replaced by Australian actor Michael Bishop. We hope he’ll be good at hiding his accent: Lois would sure be startled to see Jon sit down for breakfast one morning and say “OI, LUV! I’LL TAKE ONE A’ THEM FLAPJACKS WITH THE SYRUP MAPLES, I WILL.”
Given the state of…..everything, we don’t have very high hopes that Superman And Lois will live beyond this current season, though we suppose there’s always the possibility that another channel or streaming service could take interest. It’d be a shame if it dies here. The third season begins March 14.
