Arguably the biggest DC Comics event this year (outside of Metal) is the Doomsday Clock, as the beings of the DC universe will meet the legendary characters from Watchmen. Both Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias have been confirmed to be coming to the event. And now, via New York Comic Con, another key character from Watchmen is coming…Rorschach.
This was revealed by Geoff Johns, who is writing the event, and he showed off six pages from the first issue of Doomsday Clock #1. In it, we see the fallout from the end of Watchmen. Rorschach mailed his journal to a newspaper, and now Ozymandias’ lie has been exposed, throwing the world into turmoil. What’s more, Ozymandias has disappeared.
Rorschach is revealed as a prison riot seems to be taking place, and he stops a prisoner from leaving his cell. It’s important to note that Rorschach died at the hands of Dr. Manhattan at the end of the story, so how he has returned is a key mystery. One that will no doubt be revealed as the story continues.
Doomsday Clock #1 launches on November 22nd.
