Nintendo Direct E Shop Announcements
Nintendo dropped a bevy of E Shop news on us in today’s Nintendo Direct.
First up is the new DLC announced for Super Mario U. Since 2013 is the Nintendo dubbed “Era of Luigi” it’s fitting that they decided to retool all 80 plus levels of the original outing for Mario on Wii U and make it all about Luigi. No release date was announced as they said it’s almost like making a whole new game.
New Miiverse communities were added today for anyone wanting to chat, draw and otherwise kill time until the new Zelda games come out. The newest director of the series may be dropping by now and then on the communities and it will be the first place that gets the newest Zelda related tidbits.
Fire Emblem Awakening is the new hotness on the 3DS and so they’ve announced additional DLC, one pack which is out today. The new Champions of Yore 3 pack is released and it features all the characters you already love from previous Fire Emblems as well as an item that adds plus 2 stats to every character in your roster (OH ME WANT). You can pick up the entire 3 pack of Champions of Yore for 4 dollars right now and the Marth DLC is still free until March 6th. If you want to pick up Champions of Yore 3 separate it’ll set you back $2.50 and finally if you purchased the bundle pack earlier this week you can download the newest DLC for free today. They’ve also announced a new trilogy of DLC with similar pricing structure that starts with the Golden Gaffe. The DLC features baddies with lots of money so when it comes out you will be able to kill and loot them to your hearts content for $2.50 a piece or $6 for the lot of 3 DLC packs.
HarmoKnight, a new E Shop game from Game Freak (the guys behind Pokemon), features an auto run game where you’ll run, jump and attack to catchy music including the Pokemon Theme. The title will be available March 14th.
Dillon’s Rolling Western is receiving a sequel to my gleeful surprise. Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger will feature all the tower defense real time action as the last game with additions of levels where you defend a train and new bosses that you can beat which earns you their loyalty. This one hits E Shop April 11th. Day one download for me here folks.
Demos for Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 and Monster Hunter 3 will be hitting Feb 25th and 21st respectively. Gameboy games Harvest Moon and Legend of the River King for the virtual console will be coming sometime in the next few months with a brand new Donkey Kong and Mario Minis on the Move landing sometime after.
Overall it looks like we will be kept busy for the near future if 3DS is your chosen handheld.
