Nicole Maines Gets “Bit” July 26
You may know actress Nicole Maines for her role on the most recent season of Supergirl, but in a new indie film making its debut soon at Outfest Los Angeles, she’ll be encountering supernatural phenomena of a different kind.
In the new movie “Bit” Maines plays Laurel, a small town trans teen who’s just moved to LA to find a new life. Little does she know the life she’ll find is somewhat different that expected….she meets and befriends a group of punk girls who turn out to be vampires. Laurel isn’t sure of their true intentions, but having come from a town where she was never accepted, she’s open to giving them a chance.
Only problem is, the leader of the pack attacked and bit her when they first met. She is very probably turning into a vampire herself, and it’s their fault. Does she really have a choice in joining them?
In addition to Maines, “Bit” co-stars Diana Hopper (“Goliath”), James Paxton (Boogeyman Pop, “Eyewitness”), Zolee Griggs (“Wu-Tang: An American Saga”), Friday Chamberlain, Char Diaz, Greg Hill (Operation Finale) and M.C. Gainey (Con Air). It was written and directed by Brad Michael Elmore, and produced by Robert Reed Peterson, Nicholas Cafritz, Peter Winther, Louis Steyn and T.J. Steyn.
“Bit” will have its world premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater in LA July 26. Future release plans from there have yet to be announced.
