New Transformers: Devastation Gameplay Trailer Revealed at SDCC 15
Hasbro and the Transformers crew officially unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming video game, Transformers: Devastation, at the Transformers panel earlier today at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con trailer. You can check out the new trailer below. The new title comes from Activision and is developed by Platinum Games, the studio behind the Bayonetta franchise and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Along with the new trailer, Hasbro announced that Gregg Berger will be returning to voice Grimlock in the game. Berger voiced Grimlock in the original G1 animated Transformers series, and he later reprised the role for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Grimlock will be playable for the upcoming 3D action brawler. In addition, other characters revealed to be playable include Sideswipe and Wheeljack, joining Bumblebee, Grimlock and Optimus Prime. Other classic Transformers characters revealed from the trailer include Shockwave, Starscream and the Insecticons. It is still unconfirmed if Decepticons will be playable in the game. Hopefully, they will at least be playable in some type of competitive multiplayer mode.
The look of the game is strictly classic G1 Transformers animated designs. It is definitely welcome change to see the classic look and feel of the old show back in a new video game. Especially in comparison to the direction the Transformers characters took in the films directed by Michael Bay.
Transformers: Devastation is set to arrive October 6 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC on October 6.
