20th Century Fox and TSG Entertainment have released a brand new trailer for Hitman: Agent 47. In the video, the protagonist is seen donning the familiar outfit and armed with two hand guns and appears to show gunfights in a similar vein to the video game series.
Hitman: Agent 47 is a movie adaptation of the popular Hitman series of games and sees the story revolve around the main character from the franchise, known only as Agent 47, star in the lead role. It is the second Hitman film, the last came in 2007 and starred Timothy Olyphant as the title character. It released to a poor critical reception but did find some success at the box office. This led to the production company moving to opt for a reboot rather than a sequel. The new film will see Rupert Friend, best known for Pride and Prejudice, The Young Victoria and Homeland, star as Agent 47 and also sees Zachary Quinto and Hannah Ware take up prominent roles. The movie is set to hit cinemas on August 28 this year.
IO Interactive, the team behind the last game in the series, Hitman Absolution, is currently working on a brand new game in the series. it is being developed for PC and next generation consoles. Although the game has been officially announced, very few details have emerged about plot and gameplay have so far been revealed.
