A little over a month before it’s scheduled release, a post about Mighty No. 9 on NeoGaf has revealed that the game is being delayed until 2016. This is clearly a blow to many who have been anticipating this game. However, as in many things when it come to delays, there is a legitimate reason for it being delayed. The post, a message from developer Comcept to Kickstarter backers, revealed the delay stated the following:
“Once a solid release date is set, we will announce it immediately to our backers and fans,” reads the post. It adds: “Of course, it is important to explain why exactly the game is being delayed. As we have communicated in the updates to our backers, all of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state. However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release.”
There will be more details about the delay coming soon apparently, possibly from creator Keiji Inafune himself. We’ll just have to wait and see what he reveals, along with some information regarding when exactly when Mighty No. 9 will be released.
