MCU To Be “Very Different” After Infinity War
Every time a new “phase” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ends, it leaves the question of what’s next. And yet, you can argue that no phase is more important than Phase 3 with Infinity War. The two-part Avengers movies will show the arrival of Thanos, and with it, it’s rumored to be a new beginning for the MCU and its characters. And if Kevin Feige is to be believed in an interview with Collider, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
“We have an idea, and it’s gonna be very, very different. Certainly as we get to Infinity War there is a sense of a climax if not a conclusion to, by the time we’re at untitled Avengers 4, the 22 movies that will have encompassed the first three phases of the MCU […] I don’t know if it’s Phase 4, it might be a new thing.”
He also came to say that the two Infinity Wars films will shoot back-to-back:
“It became too complicated to cross-board them like that, and we found ourselves — again, something would always pay the price. We wanted to be able to focus and shoot one movie and then focus and shoot another movie.”
As for what comes next, it’s a curious thing, as there is plenty of characters that can continue, and movies have been confirmed for what comes after Infinity War, but only Marvel knows for sure.
