Matt Reeves Prepared To Make Batman Trilogy
Ever since Matt Reeves was announced as the director of The Batman, people have been dying to hear more about what he would do with the character. The helmer of the Planet of the Apes trilogy has done some amazing work, and many are very excited to see his take. This includes Matt Reeves himself, who has already stated that he is a major fan of Batman, and wants to do the character right. He’s stated before that he’s going to try and do a deep character story, one that’s almost noir in how it’s portrayed. But now, he’s saying he’s got more planned should it come to that:
“I have ideas about an arc, but really, the important thing is just to start… you have to start with one,” he notes to Fandango.
A Batman trilogy would be very possible, especially after the success of the Nolan trilogy, and if the Apes trilogy is anything to go by, Reeves can do it. Though Reeves noted that nothing is ever truly planned out from the beginning:
“I would be lying if I could tell you that the arcs of Apes was already planned out, because it simply wasn’t,”it’s one of those things where that character was so potent, and the possibility was embedded from the beginning, but exactly how you’ve got from A to Z is not something that existed.”
So, could we see a Batman trilogy in the DCEU? Fingers crossed.
