Despite the fallout from the ending of Mass Effect 3 (see: an ending that made all the choices you made in 95% of the series completely pointless, thus the creators had to “redo” it…), people are really excited for Mass Effect 4. The really interest though may just be about where we are in the Mass Effect universe, and when it takes place. Details have been incredibly scarce, and rumors have been all over the place. But now, we may, MAY, have some insight on what you’ll be doing in the game.
A reddit user, who has now deleted his account, posted about how he took a survey about Mass Effect 4, and that led him to get information about the game that he happily revealed to the world.
To be clear, this could be true, or it could not, it’s impossible to tell without confirmation from Bioware, so take this with a grain of salt, ok?
Location wise, you’ll be in the Helius Cluster, which is located in the Andromeda Galaxy. As for your main character, he’ll be a “Pathfinder”, who must explore the cluster and create a colony “far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard’s heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy.”
You’ll explore the systems around you as you try and build this colony for humanity. You’ll need to collect resources, fight off anyone, or anything, that gets in your way, and discover the secrets of The Remnant. An alien race that “holds the key to gaining power in this region of the galaxy”.
Over time you’ll be able to craft and forge better weapons, recruit up to 7 members of your team, and even do special “time-sensitive” missions with just your AI controlled team members.
Again, this is all speculation at this point. It’s well crafted I grant you, but this is not confirmed by any stretch of the imagination. But if it is for real…what do you think? Does this sound like the Mass Effect 4 game you want? Check out the original post for more details, then let us know.
