With Batman V Superman behind us, and now over the $800 million mark, all eyes are on the next DC Comics films: Suicide Squad. More specifically, many are curious to see Joker and Harley Quinn in this new movie universe.
For Harley Quinn, this is her first live action portrayal (outside a one-liner cameo in Arrow) and so many are eager to see her. Actress Margot Robbie talked with Latino Times about the role, and defined Harley as:
“one of the more unpredictable members of the squad,” , who uses her “extensive knowledge of mental illnesses and how to manipulate people, pick their triggers.”
No doubt that’s why Amanda Waller picked her for the mission, but as we all know, the Joker and Harley being in the same room (or movie for that matter) usually causes problems. When asked about the state of the Joker/Harley relationship, Robbie stated:
“It’s an incredibly dysfunctional relationship. She’s mad about him… like, literally mad. She’s crazy. But she loves him, and it’s a really unhealthy, dysfunctional relationship, but an addictive one.”
We’ve seen small clips of the two characters together in the film, but it’s hard to tell which is present time at times. We’ll have to see what happens when Suicide Squad releases August 8th.
