Lego-Ized Runaways Have Been Added To Marvel Super Heroes 2
For many months, we overhyped and overpromoted Hulu’s Runaways TV series prior to its premiere. We were hoping and expecting that the TV show would preserve the page-turning thrill ride of the original 2004 comic. It did not; the producers settled for making The OC again only with occasional superpowers. The main characters did not actually do what the title says they’re supposed to do until the very last episode of the first season — until then they just kinda noodled around. Maybe it’ll improve in Season Two, but for now, it’s a big disappointment. Watch at your own boredom.
What’s a Nico fanatic to do? Recreate the comic’s better moments with Legos, I guess. Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced a Runaways Character and Level Pack for their Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 game. You get them all: Nico Minoru, Chase Stein, Alex Wilder, Karolina Dean, Molly Hayes, Gertrude Yorkes, and the dinosaur. In fact you can see the dinosaur whenever you want, and not have to wait for the show’s measly CGI budget to allow another 7-second glimpse.
The pack also contains the Marine Vivarium environment, the setting for the thrilling climax of the comic’s first 18 issues. We expect the TV show to get to this scene somewhere around Season Five, if at all. But thanks to Lego, you can have it today!
The Runaways Character and Level Pack costs $2.49 and is now available for the Playstation and XBox One versions of Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2: The teens may be added to the Switch and PC versions at a later date.
