Legends of Tomorrow

Legends Of Tomorrow Picked Up By CW, Series Synopsis Released

It’s not a stretch (at all) to say how successful both Arrow and The Flash on The CW have been. It is because of them in some ways that we’re experiencing a boom in superhero television series. Gotham, Constantine, Supergirl and more owe their existence to Arrow and Flash in one way or another. So it came as no surprise when another spinoff of those shows was announced. What WAS a surprise was that it seemed set to star characters from both the Flash and Arrow universes, including a believed dead character. Furthermore, both heroes and villains both new and familiar were going to be in the show. There was much confusion to say the least.

Now, CW has officially picked up the next DC Universe spinoff series (according to Deadline), which is officially titled “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” Along with it, the series now has a full on synopsis, one that gives a clear indication of why this cast of characters is coming together.

“When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?”

Hmm, interesting. This appears to be just the beginning. Hopefully, we’ll get more information as the series begins production. It’s set for a midseason premiere next year (2016).
