It looks like Kingdom Hearts will be coming back in a big way next year. Square Enix has released the opening cinematic video for Kingdom hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. You can check out the new video in the player below.
In the video, Aqua has been trapped in the Dark World since the events that took place in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. The story of Aqua continues in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. The clip also features a nice remix of Utada Hikaru’s “Simple and Clean – Ray of Hope.” It’s definitely nice to heart that song again for a Kingdom Hearts video.
This release is on top of Kingdom Hearts III, which is also currently in the works. That game does not yet have an official release date, but it’s currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it will hopefully be out soon. At least, one imagines it will be out by next year, with Final Chapter Prologue on the horizon.
Final Chapter Prologue is due out on January 24, 2017. It will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4. It also includes the following features:
