Needless to say, Kingdom Hearts 3 is a highly anticipated title, and fans have been waiting and hoping for news of its release. Sadly, we don’t have that, even with a new E3 trailer, but we do have news on what it could have. By that, I mean an online mode. Speaking to Engadget, series director Tetsuya Nomura noted that he and his team are toying with the idea of some online modes for Kingdom Hearts 3.
“Online is certainly part of my wish list — we want gamers to play for a while and an online component helps this,” he told Engadget.
Don’t fret through, the game will still be a heavy story laden game, with priority on the main game itself:
“While we may be focusing on the main campaign at the moment, but it’s not as if we’re going to tack on an online function at the end,” he said. “In fact, we’ve already got plenty of ideas brewing at the moment. However, we’re still not at the point where we can test these ideas inside the main game.”
So at the moment, it’s more like a “possible future” idea. Nomura knows that fans want Kingdom Hearts 3 as soon as possible, so he knows where the priorities lie in regards to making this title.
