Kevin Smith To “Never” Direct Arrow?
So, one of the beauties of the Arrowverse is that it not only gets some high-profile actors and actresses to join in the fun sometimes, but also, they get some big name directors to come in and do some episodes as well. One of the biggest ones so far is Kevin Smith, who has done multiple episodes of both Supergirl and The Flash. Now, that would mean that he hasn’t done Legends of Tomorrow or Arrow, yet. Apparently, he is interested, but also apparently, a certain showrunner doesn’t feel Smith’s talents adhere to Arrow’s tone.
For according to Smith himself in an interview with Screenrant, Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim basically said that he thinks Legends of Tomorrow would be a better fit for him:
“I talked to him once after a panel at the Paley Center, I was the moderator for the Paley Center CW panel at the Hollywood and Highland complex. And so afterwards, I was talking to Marc, and I was like, ‘Hey man, fans keep saying they want me to direct an episode of [Arrow], I would love that, I wrote Green Arrow.’ He knows that. And he goes, ‘Yeah, you know, Arrow is very dark. Legends [of Tomorrow] would be good for you. So, I don’t think they’re ever gonna let me near Arrow, which is totally fine.”
You can see what he means in a way, but, as Smith said, fans are wanting him to do an episode…so…maybe they’ll change their minds?
