While many may think Superman is going to end up with Lois Lane, that’s honestly not a sure-fire truth. Yes, they were a long-time “will they/won’t they?” relationship, and eventually Lois did find out that Clark Kent was Superman and they were properly married. In one continuity they even had a kid. However, recently in comics, Superman has been dating Wonder Woman, and aside from some bumps it has been going quite well. In Man of Steel, the relationship between Lois and Superman is already established, but now Wonder Woman is entering the mix in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Could Superman find a better relationship partner in Diana of Themyscira rather than Lois Lane? Henry Cavill weighed in on the issue with Cosmopolitan.
“This is a very long discussion because there are a lot of questions to be asked and answered. I mean who is better for a super-powered alien, a human or a goddess? Yes, the goddess can do all the normal things, which we would think are normal in a relationship, and not have any fear of Superman. But you also need to have that baseline of humanity, which Lois provides. And literally keeps his feet on the ground, keeps him down to earth. So that’s more of a debate than an answer.”
Indeed, there’s also the fact that Batman is around in BVS as well, and was shown dancing with Diana. Could a love rectangle be forming? We’ll find out on March 25 when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters.
