Hellena Taylor Will not reprise Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3!

Hellena Taylor had been Bayonetta’s voice actress since the first game. She also voiced her in the crossover games where the tall leggy witch appeared. When an Anime Adaptation of the first game was made, She also voiced her in the English dub. She is now asking fans of the game to Boycott Bayonetta 3 because of the treatment she got. After voicing the character since 2009, She felt insulted that the offer she got for Bayonetta 3 is only $4000. That amount of money is too low for an established voice actress.

Hellena Taylor explained her side of the story on the following Twitter videos

In the world of gaming, recasting roles for voice actors is not a new thing. When voice performers in join a union, it drives up the cost of their talent fees. Which is one reason why many Japanese videogame businesses are opposed to the practice. Claire Redfield, had been voiced by Alyson Court in the Resident Evil series for a decade. When Claire returned in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and the Remake, there was a lot of criticism because Allison Court had been replaced.

I have to mention that I respect Disney and Square Enix for their commitment to Haley Joel Osment as the voice of Sora in Kingdom Hearts because he has been doing the role since he was 12 years old, and he is now 34 years old.

There has been a recent shift in the gaming business toward a practice in which firms are terminating their contracts with legacy voice actors once those actors joined a union. They seek out unknown new voice actors that are just starting out and have not yet established a name for themselves.

Hellena Taylor’s attempt of a Boycott failed though because Bayonetta is currently sold out in many regions. The controversy improves the sales instead. Bayonetta is now going to be voiced by Jennifer Hale.

I watched the demo, and the way the soundtrack perfectly captures the mood of a horror film as Sephiroth spirals into madness in both the reactor and Shinra manor sequences was even more terrifying and gave me the chills.

Well, it seems Square Enix has struck a balance with the demo progress transfer. Skipping the Nibelheim chapter in the full game is a relief for those who've already spent considerable time there. As for Junon, while it's a shame progress won't carry over due to alterations, it does promise a fresh experience, which is always welcome.

As someone who has been following the Final Fantasy series for many years, the added awards from prior titles are a welcome nod to long-time fans. It's like reuniting with old pals when you can bring summon materia from prior travels into this new one. It's exciting to see Square Enix combine nostalgia for the original game with new components in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The promise of a larger open world and additional dialogue options adds layers of richness to the experience, keeping gamers interested beyond the core storyline.

The decision to release the demo just a week before the full game's launch is an interesting move, especially with the addition of the Junon area later on. While it might disrupt progress transfer for some, it does build anticipation and offers a taste of what's to come.
