We don’t know how Season 1 of HBO Max’s Peacemaker will end (the season finale goes live in just a few hours), but we do know if we get any cruel cliffhangers, we’re covered. The streamer just announced a Season 2 renewal for the show.
The series is spun off from director James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad, currently the best DC movie ever made (this is inarguable). Gunn was heavily involved in Season One, writing all eight episodes and directing five, and for Season Two, he plans to write and direct ALL eight episodes.
“The brilliance of James Gunn once again shines with ‘Peacemaker,’” says Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max. “He took this character, brought to life by the inimitable John Cena, and created an exceptional series that’s simultaneously thrilling, hilarious and heartfelt, showcasing the humanity beneath this team of misfits living in a superhuman world. As the first original DC show to have its series premiere on HBO Max, we are thrilled that the viewers agreed to give peace a f, ing chance.”
Peacemaker, played by John Cena, is a ruthless mercenary who believes in defending peace “no matter how many men, women and children I have to kill to get it.” But in the series, he develops a crisis of conscience and starts wondering if he’s really been doing the right thing. Unfortunately he has this crisis right when he’s in the middle of a secret government mission to stop an alien race of bugs from taking over humanity. We’ll find out tomorrow if he can stop them.
Now you can really, really taste it for at least one more year. Peacemaker is now streaming on HBO Max.

I never thought John Cena would be a successful Hollywood actor. He is better with Hollywood because WWE fans are nothing but disrespectful to him, and now those neckbeards wanted him back.
Remember his fate in the movie, and this TV show is a prequel. Now things have gone dark. An incredible performance, however. I like the invisible guy. I can’t see who has acted excellently for his role. John Cena might end up getting more prominent than the Rock. The moment he did Ferdinand, I knew he would thrive in Hollywood. Now WWE lacks a face of the company who can put asses on the seats.
