Nintendo has been saying for a while that they intend to support the Nintendo 3DS for a while, including 2018 and beyond. When asked what they meant about that, they noted that they would be releasing more versions of the 3DS for players to get. At Gamescom 2017, a new version of the system was announced, with a catch.
You see, the 3DS that’s coming out is being made to look like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. No doubt a play on the SNES Classic Edition that’s coming out in September. In fact, this 3DS is coming out in October…for Europe. That’s right, Europe, there’s no North American version announced at present. Here is the tweet that revealed it.

Fans in America will no doubt want this version of the 3DS, but it remains to be seen if we’ll get it at all.
