Games With Gold For September Revealed

Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb, better known by his Xbox Live gamertag Major Nelson, has revealed the titles that will be available to download for free to all Xbox Live Gold members for the month of September.  As is usual for Games With Gold, two titles will be available on the Xbox One and two for the Xbox 360.

The Xbox One offerings for September include Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and The Deer God. The first game is a remastering of hit Lara Croft game that effectively rebooted the series in 2013. Meanwhile, The Deer God is a survival platformer that has a unique visual style that has been created with 3D pixels.

The addition of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is surprising considering that the last generation version of the game, Tomb Raider, was only made available through the program for the Xbox 360 back in March. However, it is likely that its inclusion is a way to help increase publicity for the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider that is due to release exclusively on the Xbox One later in the year.

Xbox 360 owners will be able to get their hands on Crytek’s latest entry in the Crysis franchise, Crysis 3, while Battlestations: Pacific will also be able to be downloaded at no cost. Battlestations: Pacific is a ship combat game that acted as a sequel to Battlestations: Midway while Crysis 3 is a first-person shooter than continues the story of the series.
