Frenemies Inc Kickstarter Now Live

Frenemies Inc is a card game for two to five players coming from Frenemies Media this fall. The crowdfunding campaign for the game just went live now.

In Frenemies Inc, your group sets out to build their own business, and though cooperation is key to growth, there will be many various points where it’ll be more advantageous to stab someone in the back. You can make strategic decisions selfishly, but be careful, what you choose to do could come back to bite you later. FM says their game “combines strategy, collaboration, and sabotage, offering players a unique experience of the challenges in building a business. The game entertains and educates about entrepreneurship, decision-making, and resource management.”

Each turn starts with the player deciding to play either a resource card or a valuation card. The goal is to build your own personal value during your turn by investing in assets like products, insurance and customers. You’ll then have to decide whether to attack other players, bluff your value as larger than it is, act defensively or take a big risk. Then the player draws another event card and the cycle begins again. The game ends when either one player amasses a million dollars, or just one player is left standing.

The pledge cost of the base game for Frenemies Inc is $22 American (or $30 Canadian, as listed), but as of this writing the Early Bird pledge tier is still active, dropping that price to $19. The deluxe edition, which includes more cards and throws in playmats, is $65 regular, $55 Early Bird.
