It doesn't matter who I ask about yuri anime in my real life, nobody ever knows what I am talking about lol. Hopefully someone will know what I am talking about on this forum, so that we can discuss yuri.

so just to set up the basics, yuri is anime where there is girl on girl love, or it may just be two best friends who are females, but Yuri basically means female love. There is a name for the boy on boy love too but I for got how to spell it, although I know how to pronounce it.

I have noticed that there have not been any substantial Yuri's out for quite some time, unless I am missing something, and I would like to know if anybody knows of any good ones? I have already watch strawberry Panic, Kannazuki no Miko. Know of any more? Thanks.

If you're okay with a more implied type of yuri, El Cazador De La Bruja is very good, and one of my favorites.

These aren't spoilers since it's first-five-minutes-of-an-episode type stuff; main characters are a bounty hunter, and the bounty. The bounty is a witch. The series takes place in Mexico. Yuki Kajiura (who did the music for Madoka Magica, and Sword Art Online, and a lot more that I can't remember at the moment) wrote the score, and did a commendable job with it too.

Here's the spoiler-free link to it on MyAnimeList.

hey thank you for the suggestions :D I am not a fan of implied Yuri or the Yuri pornography. Call me finicky, but there has to be a nice balance. The pornography just annoys me because there isn't much plot, and you can tell that the writers and animators were just horny and wanted their characters to have sex, and the implied ones are too slow, although Strawberry Panic was VERY slow, but I knew that it was going to pay off in the end with Shizuma and the other girl. Kannazuki No Miko was a perfect balance of everything for me, and It even made me cry happy tears to boot lol.

I am going to check out your link right now :D

Thanks again.

I understand how you feel about not liking implied yuri. It kind of leaves something to be desired, and it honestly feels a bit like a cop out. Despite my feelings on that matter, I do feel that Puella Magi Madoka Magica is one of the best yuri animes that one can take the time to watch. I would almost venture to say that many of the relationships in the show are canon and not implied. The number of visual references to classic yuri shows such as Revolutionary Girl Utena and Kannazuki No Miko are simply too hard to ignore. As for shows that aren't implied at all, I really enjoyed Maria-sama ga Miteru. It had such a beautiful story.

Yes, it definitely does leave something to be desired. There is enough lesbian subtext in everyday television shows without giving the fans what they want and just getting the two characters together. When I watch Yuri, I don't want to be watching porn, but I don't want it to just be implied either.

Thanks for the suggestions ;)
