I wouldn't waste my time, the first gen duel disk toys from matel suck they're not made for cards with card sleeves on, plus the lp counter doesn't go higher then 9990 and even with the academy duel disks same issue with the lp counter wrist straps are short as hell and the graveyard slot from the first duel disk to the latest still only holds 15 cards

I have tried to play with them and realize they are literally the worst things to use for an actual duel. This is more for a wall display piece I'm trying to make.

they are also perfect for cosplay. duel academy more so than battle city

I've actually been tinkering with design ideas to make them better for dueling although implementing the designs and actually making them just takes too much equipment and not enough capital
