your thoughts on premarital sex

WTF? there is no fucking trojan virus. Atleast that I know of. You're probably thinking computer viruses/spyware.

I'm going to invent my own brand of condoms called Spartans, just for the hell of it. Spartans kicked ass atleast, having a brand of latex named that wrapped around your dong sure does sound alot cooler.

::sigh:: The name for Trojan condoms is a pun. Trojan condoms protect against STDs which most are typically are caused by viruses.

Premarital sex? I believe you should wait till your married. The purpose of sex was to procreate and to express love between husband and wife.
Fornication has too many consequences such as disease, unwanted pregnancy, and fatal attraction.

"Never buy a vehicle until you've checked under the hood, kicked the tires & taken it for a test drive."

I personally hate this phrase because you need a license before you take the car out of the lot. Just like marriage is a license to have sex. Marrying someone based on their sexual ability is just plain shallow.

It's also in the bible that a man should not even share the bed with his wife when she's on her period but most people now a days share one bed with their partner even when one might be on her period.

I thought that was an Islamic belief?

I thought that was an Islamic belief?
Probably, but it's also in the Christian bible and I think also the Jewish Torah. It's one of those items that possibly crosses those three religions. (Which is why I think that the squabbling between the three is stupid since they share many things in common BUT that's a whole different topic.)

Leviticus 15:19-30
[hide]Leviticus 15:19-30 (King James Version)
19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.
20 And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.
21And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
22 And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
23 And if it be on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.
24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.
25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.
26 Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.
27 And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
28But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.
29 And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
30 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.[/hide]

Leviticus 20:18
[hide]Leviticus 20:18 (King James Version)
18 And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.[/hide]

Ezekiel 18:5-6
[hide]Ezekiel 18:5-6 (King James Version)
5 But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
6 And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,[/hide]

Since when does someone test drive a car by just seeing if the engine's doing fine? You kick the tires, check all the options, make sure the undercarriage is not deformed/previously wrecked and that there are no hidden "gremlins" that'll pop out on ya 5 minutes after your warranty times out. All that is within the umbrella of "Test Drive," same thinking applys when dealing with a potential mate. Make sure you're not gonna get any psycho ex-lovers/unclaimed kids/roaming venereal diseases/et cetera popping up out of the blue.

As for the license allegory: You don't NEED a license to drive. Those are only to certify to the State that you've met a set of minimum guidelines agreed by all within said State as to your proficiency behind said wheel. Hell, nowadays they're being tied together into a National ID Database, damnable Federal Government sticking their noses in where it don't belong. There is NO WAY all those within the boundaries of these United States could ever agree as to what minimum guidelines need to be met to allow someone to marry another. Hell, we're arguing about it now in regards to homosexual marriage. Which standard should be go by? Religious? Societal? Decree by Emperor Norton? When we as human beings can come to an reasonable respecting consensus, then maybe I can work with you but as far as I'm concerned love..., sex..., & marriage should not even be uttered within the same breath.

The big problem I see with the idea of waiting until marriage is the artificial watershed it creates. This Pollyanna thinking that it'll be wonderful after marriage, your partner'll be able to give it to ya as well as you give it back, once married you'll be in love forever. That is the biggest load of horseshit I've heard.

I've seen relationships that have gone for years...and neither party got married. They had kids & stayed in love but never needed the arbitrary stamp of approval from City Hall to know their love was genuine. I've seen my own mother & father's relationship. They got married, begat myself & my younger brothers. They loved each other passionately...and it turned into unbridled hatred when they got divorced. Tore my life asunder and got me within five seconds of taking my own life at the age of 11 in the hopes that my sacrifice would show my parents the error of their ways; thusly bringing them back together for my brothers' sakes. The title of marriage as it is now is outdated and is loaded with double-speak more akin to legal contracts. There's nothing about Love in a marriage contract. It's all about possessions...CHILDREN as POSSESSIONS!

You can be in a loveless marriage or a blissful relationship that can't be captured with the Written Word. Why bring in the legal mumbo-jumbo of marriage documents and other cold, unfeeling organs of government into something as passionate and emotional as love and/or sex? Sex is for reproduction...but unlike all the other organisms on this 3rd rock from the sun we've tied morals into it. We've tied property & possessions into it. We've tied it into so many things that we've, in effect, tried to make it clinical, cold, distanced from our hearts. We gain tremendous amounts of pleasure from sex and I, for one, think we need to see it more for what it is: a wonderful gift that we should enjoy as much as we can responsibly and never bring the word "marriage" into the discussion.

Dude, I'm Catholic, and even I know that you have to take the Bible with a grain of salt. In that same book (Leviticus), it says that a man is committing a sin when he sleeps with another man. It also says that when a woman menstruates, she is committing a sin on par with when a man masturbates. Where's the fairness in that?

"The beauty of grace is that life's not fair"-Reliant K

Where in the bible does it speak about fairness? First problem came from sleeping with a man as you would sleep with a woman thats simply what it means and most people might not agree with it, but it's there.

My question is why take what you believe with a grain of salt if you plan on believing it?

People are not cars. Saying "You should try them for a test drive" is a silly thing to say IMO. & If you are not pleased by the first 25 people you decide you are in love with & "test drive" all of them, then eventually you'll just be known as a hoe, man or woman.

Also, if you don't think they're good enough in bed to please you & that's all you care about so you leave them, then I guess you never truly loved them anyway, now did you?

I agree with what Chikara said:

Theres nothin wrong with wanting to have sex with the girl before you marry or she wanting to have sex with you before you marry. Like whats the difference in the sex?

Its a natural thing anyway, you're gonna wanna have sex with this person you love regardless if you're married yet. You don't have to be married to love some one.
