Your most hated Kamen rider character?

which character in any rider show has gotten on your nerves the most? for me it is shunpei from wizard. Man he is so annoying and useless. He is a waste of a character yet he got so much freaking screen time. Every time he appeared on the show I got annoyed, He is immature and he needs to grow up. I'm gonna despair over a 2 dollar book that I can just buy other copies of. I really didn't like him

It wasn't about the book at all. It was symbolic of crushing his dream of being a wizard, which he can't just "buy for two dollars."

Mine is Nago. There are just no redeeming features to him at all. He makes Tendou look modest, he's not funny, he's every cliche of the rival character up to eleven. His bizarre pseudo-Christianity is actually offensive and worse still a character I might have liked (Megumi) gets saddled with him.

A tie between Akiko Narumi of W and Yuuki Joujima of Fourze. They're both equally annoying little pests and sometimes I felt like snatching Akiko's sandal off her and slapping her with it. And yes, Shunpei is indeed a useless character.

Nothing will ever convince me that Akiko and Yuuki-hate isn't at least partially based on them not being people's idea of what's attractive in a woman and/or a Kamen Rider heroine (see also people who complain Hana from Den-O is "masculine")

Yuuki was a total nerd while Akiko was an overbearing irate grandma in a teenager's body. Shunpei was a klutz who just lost his channel for his hyperactivity. I probably won't get irritated by those characters in real life, and won't in a TV show either.

I could see why people would, though.

Kiriya from Kamen Rider Hibiki and Kaito from Kamen Rider Decade are two characters I hate so much, I can't decide which one I hate more.

Kiriya is a whiny little **** who is completely out of place with the rest of the series and yet somehow gets everything he wanted despite being a spoiled, whiny, manipulative asshole.

Kaito is a confusing character. His motivations change once every few minutes, and his sudden heel turns get infuriating since they're never properly explained. Also, his treasure obsession is obnoxious.

Akiko's a grandma?

I suppose by that reasoning, Nago is the guy who shows up at your door wanting to talk to you about Jesus. Then when you politely say no, he looks you straight in the eye and very calmly tells you that you'll roast in hell forever. Thanks, Nago

Masato (Kamen Rider Kaixa) is the only character in Kamen Rider that annoyed me so much that I decided I just wasn't going to watch him anymore and started fastforwarding through his scenes. I know that he's a character that you're meant to hate (see my various previous Faiz rants detailing my theory that the show is all about discrimination and Kaixa is the show's two-dimensional racist) but they did too good a job and he ended up being central to everything wrong with that show.

Yuuki was probably the most prominent victim of the writing situation for that show. One writer thinks she's the heart of the team, the other thinks she's a shrieking space otaku, and the head writer never clamped down and forced his two underlings to follow a particular path. The same thing happens with a number of characters in Fourze, including Gentaro.

Akiko was a bit annoying at first but I think that's in part because the actress was just really going over the top initially (IIRC she won a competition to get her management deal and Double was the first time she'd ever been on a set). I think within a few episodes she settled into the role and calmed it down a bit. She's an immature character, but IMO that's the point of having her there. Shotaro's story arc is about growing from being a boy to a man. At the beginning he's just as immature as Akiko is and yet he wants to become a similar man to her dad. Start line and finish line. Akiko and Sokichi. If they started moving the start line then we wouldn't be able to see how far Shotaro's come.

Shunpei...I have no defence for Shunpei.

Honestly it's difficult to make me truly dislike a character because I don't judge fictional people the same way I judge real people. I'll accept any amount of bad behaviour from a fictional character so long as I feel the show is also disapproving of it. I also hate being presented with a character that I'm obviously being pushed to have a specific opinion on without being shown why I should hold that opinion (a gap between telling and showing, I guess). Koyomi irritated me because the show obviously expected me to like her, but I couldn't see what was likable about this whiny, sullen girl with no charisma or personable qualities.
