Your keypoint on shows & movies

What is your main keypoint when your watching any show or movie? Do you just focus on the story, plot, the characters, acting, or pretty much everything in general?

If it were my dad, he'd probably say "Explosions, lots and lots of explosions"

But for me, I think it's a bit of everything in general.

Why focus on just one thing? I'm very critical on all of those, even when it comes to shows I like I often point out downfalls of episodes/seasons to friends and how they can improve.

It depends on the movie (Action, Drama, etc). I usually, focus more on the the story and acting, sometimes on the action scenes too.

You can have all the explosions in general but with outa story to back it up eh...

I'm going to go with "everything in general "

Ahh... Unless its one of those tv shows where you are watching stuff explode simply for the sake of... Then that is the point of watching the show to start with yknow :)

I usually go by what kind of movie it is, and what it's trying to accomplish. A movie like The Wrestler, I would focus on acting and plot. A movie like Friday the 13th, I'm looking for gore and how cool the kills are. When I watch a Michael Bay movie, Im looking for explosions and action. So it really depends. I wouldn't go into Transformers 2 expecting oscar-caliber acting, just like I wouldn't be upset that there is not much blood and guts. So I try to tailor it to whatever kind of movie I'm watching.
