WWF Wrestlemania 2000/WCW-NWO Revenge

I recently busted my dustyass N64 back out and started playing these games and damn are they fun. Why can't they make 'em like this anymore? Granted, I miss World Tour where you could play as Hayabusa, Sasuke, Onita, and Gran Hamada (Er... their WCW butchered versions...) but the gameplay is so addictive that it doesn't really matter. Playing with the cruisers is especially fun.

WWF Wrestlemania 2000-

WTF? Why is this game so damn hard? I've been playing with Jericho and Jeff Hardy for like 9 days trying to unlock Shawn Michaels and people like Kane, Undertake, and especially that fucker Billy Gunn keep kicking my ass all up and down the ring. Sure there are times when I can win with a well-timed reversal or turning up the pain with repeated Walls of Jericho but for the most part these guys are invincible! Seriously, they can reverse everything and the more I stomp the **** out them, the faster their Spirit Meter goes up. AAAAH!!!

WCW Revenge-

This is where it's at for me simply because of the large number of Cruiserweights available for selection like Mysterio, Psychosis, Juvi, Jericho, Eddie and Chavo, Ultimo Dragon, and even having fun with those gayass made up wrestlers (Dr. Frank, oh no! ). I swear to anyone who is familiar with Hayabusa and has this game... the character "Han Zo Mon" has ALL his moves and I don't exaggerate--he's got the Falcon Arrow, the Firebird and Phoenix Splashes, the Dragon Suplex, the spinning heel kick and 540 kick, the Shootingstar, and even the flying elbow and that weird armlock Ezaki always applies. That's awesome, too bad his costume is incredibly lame.

What'd you fans think of these games? And for those that still buy wrestling games, are there any that even compare to the gameplay style and fun factor that these Aki games had?

Ah dude, I LUVED WM2000. Its not hard at all! Well then again I just love the game so much. I never bothered too much with reversal crap. Im just a brawler. There are other ways to whoop ass than to be technical

These games were fun as hell, even if most or Rey Mysterio jr moves were pins. But I got to agree the crusierweights were the best part of wcw games. The create a player on the wwe one was cool too. Gameplay wise nowaday, maybe the wwe gamecube games because like with the N64 ones you tape the buttons for a light attack or grapple and press it for a strong one. But that's just me.

I was so disappointed when I got War Zone from not one...but TWO realitives....seriously...it made me cry. Worst. Christmas. Ever

I was so happy when I got No Mercy (and afterwards) Wrestlemania 2000.

I'm so 1337!

I got hold of one of the defective No Mercy carts from the first PAL shipment. Basically, the cart resets itself every so often resulting in the loss of ALL CAW and championship data. Hell, this defect is so cool that it could even happen mid-game. I was playing through for the World Championship with my CAW... and suddenly, I'd started the second match with the CAW base. xD!

... Still, I eventually purchased a fully working copy of the game. I didn't even find out until recently that I could have sent my botched copy to THQ for a free replacement.

Ah man, so many memories with Revenge, vs. The World, and Mania 2000. Unfortunatley I never caught No Mercy and I am really regretting it now.

Wasn't No Mercy that really crappy one that played out like WCW Mayhem and featured Golddust? Or was that Attitude?

Bah! It saves you from getting your ass kicked alot if you catch somebody's strike and return it or turn a powerbomb into a hurricanrana or sunset flip or something like that. Plus it just looks awesome to reverse everything. My favorite reversal is from when you're dazed in the corner and your opponent is shoulder-ramming you in the stomach, you can jump your legs up and over their arms and roll over into a sunset flip pin.

Wrestlemania 2000 is an awesome game! I still have problems winning a cage match. I too recently dusted off my N64 and bought WCW/nWo World Tour at the local Gamestop for $1.00...all I need is a memory card to unlock everyone...I've been playing alot of import wrestling games...Virtual Pro Wrestling(which is just like world tour, except alot more wrestlers and alot more promotions) and Virtual Pro Wrestling 2, which is the greatest game ever!!
