The expansion will be set in Northrend where u will face Arthas the lich king and his undead legions. IMO this sucks badly (u might disagree). First, its way too early, we need more time. second, they are killing the warcraft lore. how can u even come close to Arthas? he is the most powerful character in the Warcraft lore. He wiped out civilizations all by himself and now he'll be killed by some 40 no-bodies. We still don't have a relaese date but it might be sometime next year, IMO its still too early. and as i keep saying they are destroying the characters and what respect players have for them. Thats why i respect Starcraft alot more now, the characters are untouched.

Hmm,
I agree going to arthas was too early.
But an expansion is on time.
Although 60-70 already took a while, 70-80 will be looooooooong.
Maybe they should've just raised it straight to 100 for people to even have a chance to beat arthas.
Also it's not 40 nobody's, it'll probably be 25...

I cant wait for this. I dont mind leveling, leveling is part of RPGs. Besides, I enjoy the journey of the destination, not the destination itself. I find that when I hit the top level, I usually get bored. Having new content to level through will be fantastic. And the new areas look great already. It shows how much they've been doing since the Burning Crusade was released. And they've done it fast.

Btw, Arthas most powerful character in Warcraft lore? I don't know about that. I'm not Warcraft expert or anything, but there's some heavier stuff in the past of Azeroth. Arthas is one of the stronger foes. I also don't remember him wiping out civilizations by himself... He always had a base and an army. Hello, it was an RTS. He never did anything by himself, he had an army.

Look at it this way, Arthas was practically on par and a bit stronger than Illidan. They had that fight at the end of WC3 expansion, and Arthas didnt just demolish Illidan. So if we're kicking Illidan's ass at 70, then at 80, Arthas shouldnt be invincible.

They aren't destroying their characters. No character lives forever, this isnt a cartoon. It's WARcraft. An easy example is Grom Hellscream. He died. Were they killing their game then? No. Their story evolves, characters die, plots get resolved.

If WC4 had come out instead of WoW, Arthas would have fallen regardless. You just would have done it as part of a Campaign instead of a Raid. How is that any different?

It's not. Personally, I think it's silly to think Blizzard was going to release a MMO and not let you fight their biggest villains. This odd sense that you have to "protect" the characters you love is pointless. They would have fallen or died anyway in time, MMO or RTS.

But anywho, I hope 70-80 takes as long as it wants. I'm in no hurry to get to 80. I want to enjoy the new content, check out all the quests, and really have some fun with the game. Once you're at the top, at the end, it's no longer fun. It's just one long grind for better gear. But what's the better gear for? Nothing. There's nothing to do with the better gear.

However, Death Knight sounds bad ass. Too bad there will probably be millions of Death Knights running around. But at least we'll have tanks in our parties, finally!

This is not too early in my opinion. Why do you want an Expansion to come later? What's with this mentality that I'm seeing that people don't want an expansion so early? You should be excited that there's new content already coming. The Warcraft fans are some of the weirdest people...

Because you dont see this behavior with FFXI. Or Lineage2. Or even EverQuest.

They have expansions and new content updates and no one complains. No one is saying "but I havent explored this expansion yet or leveled to 75 yet!". It's assumed that you'll just do it anyway.

You don't have to rush, just enjoy the game. The journey is more fun than the destination, with MMORPGs.

I cant freaking wait for Wrath of the Lich King. It's coming at a perfect time, I was getting bored with WoW. But now I'm revitalized, I'm playing the game again, trying to get my Arena gear and some PvP gear so I can be ready for the Expansion. Not worried about anything.

That trailer was awesome, btw.
